About Me

Hi! I’m Delie – a wife, a mom, and a baptized child of God. Thanks for stopping by!

I grew up in Tennessee with eight fantastic siblings and a wonderful dad and mom. By the end of my freshman year at Union University, I thought I knew where my life was headed: I would become an occupational therapist and happily spend the rest of my life Reformed, Baptist, and single. Those plans changed almost overnight. In 2019, I fell in love with a brilliant, kind, and handsome Midwesterner–and his Lutheran theology. We were married the next year, and I was confirmed in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. We now live in Indiana, where my husband attends Concordia Theological Seminary. This blog would not exist without his enthusiastic support. His love for theology inspires me to think deeply about the various topics you’ll find here.

I named this blog Coram Mundo (Latin, “before the world”) because much of my content is related to the everyday connections between my Lutheran faith and my vocations as a wife, mom, and parishioner. I don’t have any theological training, and my goal is not to teach doctrine. Rather, this is an outlet for me to explore–through reflections, ramblings, and poetry–the riches I’ve found in the Lutheran Church. Sacramental theology has changed my life, and I’m thrilled to share my love for it. Whether you’re a lifelong Lutheran, a newbie like me, or just curious about Lutheranism, I hope you are encouraged by the glorious truth of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Welcome to my blog!
